At NHEHS, the art clubs offer a vibrant space for girls to explore their artistic side and develop new creative skills. With a variety of clubs to choose from—including Art Studio, Art Club, Animation, and Digital Illustration—there’s something to inspire every young artist.
Whether they’re painting with traditional materials, creating digital artwork on iPads, or bringing stories to life through animation, the girls are encouraged to experiment, express themselves, and grow in confidence while learning valuable techniques in a fun and supportive environment.
The girls will be guided step by step on a specific activity using a combination of art mediums and tools, such as watercolours, acrylic paint, charcoal, pencils, oil pastels, soft pastels, mixed media, paper, etc.
New working methods and new ways of exploring materials will be introduced weekly.
Each term, the girls will engage in different art projects, ensuring they can join for two years without repeating any activities.
All materials are included.
Please fill out the form every term to guarantee your spot.
The club will be cancelled if a minimum number of students is not met.
In the Art Studio, the girls work on longer-term projects that allow them to slow down and fully explore their creativity. They learn how to mix colours, experiment with different painting techniques, and develop their own artistic voice.
Each student chooses a project inspired by a wide range of artists—from classic art-historical masters to contemporary illustrators—drawing inspiration while making the work their own. The focus is on process, exploration, and personal growth through hands-on making.
All materials are included.

DIGITAL ILLUSTRATION
Year 4
In the Digital Illustration club, the girls learn to draw using iPads, developing their skills with digital art software while exploring the unique advantages of creating art digitally versus on paper.
They experiment with layers, brushes, and colour tools, gaining confidence in using technology as a creative outlet. Through fun prompts and imaginative themes, the class encourages self-expression, helping each student develop their own artistic style and bring their ideas to life on screen.
All materials are included.

Invitaiton Only
In Drawing Club, the girls focus on building a strong foundation in the basic principles of drawing—line, shape, value, basic anatomy and perspective. Working exclusively in pencil, charcoal and black liner, they learn to observe closely and translate what they see with precision and control.
This is an invitation-only class for girls in Years 4, 5 and 6, offering a focused space to develop technical skill and confidence on the page.
To apply, please download the worksheet below and have your daughter complete it before the deadline. Selections will be based on the completed worksheets, so there's no need for teachers to nominate students — every girl is welcome to apply.
The girls should bring an A4 sketchbook; all other materials are included.
